Ventana Fund is seeking an experienced and collaborative Executive Director to guide the organization's continued growth, financial sustainability, and community impact.

This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking leader who combines financial and operational expertise with a commitment to nonprofit leadership, relationship-building, and community development.

Working closely with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic direction, oversee lending programs, strengthen funding partnerships, and lead a dedicated team in advancing Ventana Fund's mission.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership & Organizational Management

• Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement organizational strategies that support long-term growth and sustainability.
• Provide transparent, collaborative leadership while fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing workplace.
• Oversee daily operations, staff development, organizational policies, and strategic initiatives.

Financial Management & Fundraising

• Oversee financial performance, budgeting, resource allocation, and long-term financial sustainability.
• Lead fundraising efforts, including grants, Equity Equivalent Investments (EQ2s), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) funding, and other financing opportunities.
• Cultivate strong relationships with funders, financial institutions, and community partners.

Community Development & Compliance

• Provide leadership and oversight of affordable housing lending programs and community initiatives.
• Represent Ventana Fund with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, funders, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) certification, compliance, and reporting requirements, including the CDFI Fund's Awards Management Information System (AMIS).
• Ensure compliance with funding agreements, grants, organizational policies, and applicable requirements.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of seven years of directly related professional experience, including five years of supervisory experience. A bachelor's or master's degree may substitute for two years of directly related experience.
• At least two years of experience in affordable housing or a directly related field.
• Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, financial analysis, and organizational operations.
• Experience with nonprofit fundraising, grant development, administration, and funding relationships.
• Knowledge of CDFI certification, compliance, reporting, and funding programs.
• Experience working collaboratively with a Board of Directors.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading a nonprofit organization or community development initiative.
• Familiarity with CDFI Fund reporting systems, including AMIS.
• Experience developing financial and operational systems and building strategic partnerships.

Work Environment
