Housing Workshops Scheduled for Northern New Mexico

ULI New Mexico in partnership with the Ventana Fund will be releasing a Northern New Mexico Housing report that follows the April 2023 Northern New Mexico Housing Summit. The results of the report will be unveiled at the Solving Northern New Mexico Housing Crisis event, which will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8th at the Santa Fe Railyards, 1011 Alcadessa St. in Santa Fe.

The main finding is that there is a need for 32,000 housing units throughout Northern New Mexico. The August event will provide a candid discussion with community leaders on how to address the housing shortages. Concrete solutions and available funding tools will be discussed.

“ULI New Mexico is dedicated to improving the built environments throughout New Mexico,” said Rathi Casey, ULI New Mexico Housing Chair. “The Espanola Mayor and leadership made it possible to do the important work of addressing housing shortages.”

A follow-up housing summit will be held from 10 a.m. – noon on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM.

“Ventana Fund is heavily invested in financing affordable housing options in rural New Mexico and we applaud ULI New Mexico for providing a non-political platform for community leaders to solve the issues that face future generations of New Mexicans,” added Todd Clarke, Ventana Fund Board Chair.
